About us

Thank you for visiting our page. Little Gems Nurseries is a family run business and Magda’s our director’s childhood dream. The very first Nursery was opened in 2019 in Aldershot when Magda’s first daughter Gabriella needed an education setting and Magda struggled to find one that followed her family vision and offer children the education that they deserve.

Why Little Gems?

At Little Gems Nurseries we see every child as a precious gem that has been created very uniquely with a great purpose. We believe that the early experiences children have – while they are in our care- will shape who they are and who they will become in the future. A little encouragement goes a long way. A teacher who loves respect and understand each child’s unique design is a rare to find. We are proud to have teachers that are dedicated caring and passionate about each and individual child’s early years journey including their family. It is an absolute honour as well as a massive responsibility to take part in raising the future generation and we don’t take that for granted! We believe that we may have a next Prime minister Health care leaders teachers future politicians doctors and many more in our care and we get to be the ones influencing them of course alongside you parents.

a curriculum for every child

EYFS-based curriculum

Together with Loris Malaguzzi, we believe there are three teachers in a child's early learning: you as a parent, other children, and the environment. That is why we pay great attention to our classroom setups, which purely follow children's interests and fascinations.

Our teachers are there to observe, mentor, and guide children in their discoveries and conclusions, as well as provoke learning through setting up exciting provocations and invitations to learning.

Through these early years, your child will follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS), which provides a flexible and stimulating development programme tailored to your child's unique individual needs.

There are five principles that underpin our curriculum.

1. Contribution

We want children to be active members of our classroom routines, decision-making, and able to contribute to their learning by sharing their interests and fascinations with us.

2. Communication

We want our children to be powerful communicators, able to express their opinions and wants, as well as care for others.

3. Belonging

We want our children to have a strong sense of belonging that will develop a sense of safety and confidence. We want them to know that they are unique and special.

4. Exploration

We want our children to be free to explore our indoor and outdoor environments and draw their conclusions and speculations. We want them to ask powerful questions and learn something new each day.

5. Well-being

We want our children to be healthy inside and out. We want them to be aware of what contributes to their well-being and a healthy lifestyle.
